Cheers! Using invasive trees to make bourbon

Texas' famous King Ranch has teamed up with Old Forester Distilling Co. in a creative take on managing invasive honey mesquite trees (Prosopis glandulosa). Technically, this tree is native to Texas and much of the US Southwest, but changing fire regimes and other human manipulations of the landscape have transformed it into a pest that many consider an invader.
